The Hughenden Hotel was from 1870 the home of Dr Frederick Harrison Quaife, who was a founding father of the British Medical Association in the young colony. Now this boutique hotel is a popular favourite providing accommodation amongst the old world charm of this heritage building. This gracious Victorian heritage residence was built by Dr Frederick Harrison Quaife & named after Benjamin Disraeli's home in High Wycombe England. The Hughenden (circa 1870) is associated with Australia's first philosopher and is situated at the gateway to the largest expanse of turn-of-the-century Victorian architecture in Australia.
