M-Power Accommodation - Service

M-Power Accommodation is an accommodation booking service operating since 1999.

M-Power provides personal service from 7am to 8pm Monday to Friday, from 9am to 2pm on Saturday and 8am to 12noon Sunday (all times are Sydney times).

M-Power strives to offer the highest level of professional and personalised service to its clients, with a rapid reply to email or phone enquiries, and bookings. We endeavour to hold to that commitment, however many of the hotels we work with do not have 24 hours Reservations. As such, this may cause a delay in our response. If you have not heard from us within 24 hours, please let us know.

The only way we can respond to your requests is by the email address you provide on our booking and enquiry forms. Please ensure the email provided to us is correct.

M-Power Accommodation - Fees

The Fee for M-Power's services is included in the rates quoted by the Hotel.

There is no additional Booking Fee (except very few dormitory accommodations, where indicated).

This Fee is around 10% of each nights cost, for each night of the stay we book for the Guest.

The amount of this deposit is nominated by each hotel and this amount comes off the quoted nightly rate.

The Fee is charged in the form of a non-refundable Deposit, mostly at the time of booking, and counts toward the Total Cost of Accommodation. The Guest then settles the remaining balance cost for each night that the Guest stays, directly with the Hotel.

This deposit is not refundable if the booking is cancelled after the booking is made. The deposit cannot be transferred to another booking if the booking is cancelled or shortened. The deposit component cannot be transferred to the overall cost of stay if a stay is shortened. The deposit is an amount paid to M-Power Accommodation. This amount is accepted by the client at time of booking. If a stay is shortened, the deposit paid to M-Power Accommodation, for unused night cannot be used toward the balance owed to the hotel for nights stayed.

This Deposit is only charged if a booking is made by M-Power.

No Deposit is charged by M-Power if a booking is not made.

In order to make a booking, Guests must accept that M-Power will charge a non-refundable Deposit.

M-Power Accommodation - Who Pays?

When the Guest goes ahead with the stay as booked, the Deposit is charged to the Guest at the time of booking. The remaining balance of each nights cost, for each night the Guest stays, is paid directly to the hotel after check-in. In this case the Hotel has covered the Fee for M-Power's services, as this Deposit counts toward the Total Cost of Accommodation owed by the Guest.

When the Guest does not go ahead with the stay as booked, the Deposit will still have been charged to the Guest at the time of booking. In this case, the Guest has covered the M-Power Fee in the form of the non-refundable Deposit.

The Non-Refundable deposit is a Fee to M-Power Accommodation. This amount is not paid to the hotel and therefore cannot count toward the balance owed by the guest to the hotel, even if the stay is shortened. Nor can this amount count toward any other cost incurred by the guest during their stay at the hotel.

For stays booked at some hotels the Deposit is not charged by M-Power at the time of booking. For these bookings, the Hotel charges the Guest the full cost for each night the Guest stays. M-Power will charge the Deposit in the event of a No-Show by the Guest, or Cancellation of the booking. M-Power calculates the Deposit on the number of nights originally booked for the Guest.

Alterations to a booking

Alterations to a booking are to be made in writing to M-Power Accommodation. Alterations to bookings will only be accepted from the person who originally made the booking.

One alteration to a booking will be made at no further charge. For all alterations made to a booking after the first alteration, a service fee of A$35 per alteration will be charged.

Where a confirmed booking is altered, no refund of the securing deposit will occur. Where the deposit amount for the new booking is greater than the deposit amount for the old booking, only the difference is charged. Where the deposit amount for the new booking is less than the deposit amount for the old booking no difference is refunded.

Booking Fee

There is no additional Booking Fee incurred for bookings made by M-Power (except very few dormitory accommodations, where indicated).

Where indicated, bookings for some budget or dormitory accommodation require a stay of a minimum number of nights. For bookings of at least the Minimum number of nights, only the 10% Non-Refundable Deposit will be charged to the Guest. For stays of less than the Minimum number of nights, the Guest will be charged a Booking Fee, in addition to the 10% Non-Refundable Deposit charged at the time of booking.

If a Booking Fee applies, this will be indicated at the time of enquiry.

Cancellation or No-Show

Notice of cancellation of any booking or alteration to a booking must be made in writing, by email or fax to M-Power Accommodation - email: and fax: +61-2-9319 7195.

Where you do not receive confirmation from M-Power Accommodation of cancellation of your booking please contact us.

A "no-show" is when the Guest fails to arrive on the booked date of arrival. When a guest no-shows on the booked date of arrival, this will result in the Cancellation of the remainder of the booking. Bookings cancelled due to a no-show are still subject to the booking and charge conditions.

The Guest may be charged a Cancellation Fee by the hotel (or tour operator) in addition to any non-refundable deposit charge made M-Power Accommodation.

If the booking conditions require a charge greater than the first nights cost in order secure your booking, this amount will not be refunded in the event of the cancellation of a booking due to a no-show.

Cancellation or No-Show Fees - Guest Contact Information

Providing correct guest contact information to M-Power Accommodation is the full responsibility of the guest. As well, ensuring that correspondence such as a booking confirmation is not blocked by your spam or junk-mail filter is also the responsibility of the guest.

Once M-Power has secured a booking as instructed by the guest, the guest is then bound by the booking conditions including No-Show and Cancellation Fees. Where incorrect or incomplete guest contact information is provided, M-Power takes no responsibility for any losses (e.g.. No-Show and Cancellation Fees) which arise from the guest not receiving the booking confirmation.

M-Power has no control over the settings on the computer of a booking guest, including spam and junk-mail filtering. As such, once you have committed to the conditions of a booking, if you do not received your confirmation within a reasonable time, the onus is on the booking guest to contact M-Power Accommodation in an attempt to remedy the situation.

Once you proceed with the booking and have accepted the terms and conditions, you are bound by those terms and conditions. For example, this may includes a fee for no-show on your booked date of arrival..

Credit Card Fees

Australian Law permits a surcharge on payments made with some credit cards. This is common with AMEX and DINERS Cards. Payments made using Visa, MasterCard or Australian Bankcard will usually not attract a surcharge.

M-Power Accommodation does not charge a service fee, however some hotels may do so. In limited cases where a service charge by M-Power does apply you will be notified prior to proceeding.

The American Discover Card is not accepted in Australia.

Exchange rates provided by M-Power are approximations and intended as a guide only.

High Season

High Season may apply to any busy period during the calendar year including, for example: Christmas, New Years Eve, School Holidays or during Special Events.

For stays which include any dates during High Season, higher rates and/or special booking conditions may apply to some or all nights of the booked stay. Any High Season rates and/or conditions will be explained at the time of enquiry.

It is common for Hotels to charge higher rates, require a minimum stay, and/or require some form of prepayment for stays including dates during High Season.

M-Power may not be able to assist Guests looking for one night stays during High Season, such as a one night stay over New Years Eve. One night stays may be booked during High Season, such as over New Years Eve, however the High Season rates and/or conditions will still apply. For example if a New Year's Eve booking requires a minimum stay of 5 nights, the Guest may stay for one night but still be required to pay for the full cost of the 5 minimum nights.

Long Stay & Group Bookings

Please apply for rates and/or conditions which apply for long stays or group bookings.

Long stay rates and/or conditions are based upon the total length of the stay. Where a long stay is shortened, higher rates and/or conditions may apply, based upon the actual length of stay.

Group rates and/or conditions are based upon the number of rooms and services, and total length of the stay, as quoted. Where the actual number of rooms and services used, and/or actual length of the stay is different from the original booking, higher rates and/or conditions may apply.

Room and Apartment Names

Room and Apartment names noted on our sites are nominated by the hotel or product supplier. These names may indicate the facilities of the room being named or they may differentiate between room types at that hotel. Names do not necessarily indicate the quality of room and M-Power Accommodation does not endorse any specific quality implied by the name of the room, assigned by the hotel.

M-Power will provide relevant Guest and credit card details to the booked Hotel, for the purpose of the booking alone.

M-Power does not provide Guest information to any third parties.

Quality of Information

M-Power has categorised the accommodation providers by quality and cost, in what we believe best represents value to the guest.

M-Power endeavours to provide accurate information of the highest quality. In the event of a discrepancy between information provided by M-Power and information obtained directly from an accommodation provider, the latter will prevail.

Star Ratings and Price Categories may not always coincide.

M-Power makes recommendations, and makes all efforts to ensure information is accurate. However M-Power will not take responsibility for the quality of services or accommodation provided or the locations of any accommodation provider, nor for any dissatisfaction experienced during stays booked by M-Power.

In most circumstances the cost of accommodation will be commensurate with level of services provided. The cheapest accommodation providers maintain low rates by greatly reducing services such as: restricted reception operating hours; restriction on in-room maid services such as linen change; Concierge restrictions; possible quality of in room fittings and property facilities.

If higher levels of service and product quality are required, it is suggested that products in the higher price range may be the better choice.

From time to time, the products or services of an accommodation provider may not be available due to renovations or modifications to that product - e.g. upgrading a swimming pool, or as a result of an unplanned failure e.g. - an elevator may be out of action as a result of equipment failure etc. In these circumstances, M-Power Accommodation does not accept responsibility for any consequence resulting from this unavailability.


All rates shown are Low Season prices. Please apply for availability and rates for High Season and Special Event times (e.g. stays over New Years Eve).

Rates and conditions may vary at any time without notice. However, rates and conditions as booked will prevail.

Problem Resolution

If you encounter any problem relating to your stay which you would like M-Power Accommodation to assist in resolving, please contact us at that time (at time of check-in or during the stay). If you choose not to contact M-Power Accommodation during the stay then it is unlikely that we will be able to assist in resolving the situation.

Rates - Validity

All rates and conditions are valid at the time of quoting. Similar to airlines fares however, after quoting, discounted rates may have sold out and no longer be available for the same dates of stay if you then wish to book at a later time. However, rates and conditions as confirmed at the time of booking will prevail.


M-Power goes to great lengths to ensure information provided is correct and up to date.

If a mistake in quoting or noting of a price occurs as a result of human error, such as a typographical error or mathematical error (but not limited to these errors), the correct rates or correct summations will apply and the erroneous rate will not apply.

Any such error will not diminish the client's responsibility to pay the correct rate.

M-Power Accommodation will not be held responsible to cover any shortfall in rates as a result of such an error.

If you notice such an error noted on our sites or in information we send you, we would greatly appreciate it being pointed out to us for correction.


Requests can be made when a booking is secured, however requests will only be subject to availability at the time of stay. Common requests include, for example: a room on a high floor, a low floor, to be able to check-in early or a late check-out. Requests can be made for views (if available at the property) or for smoking or non-smoking rooms (where available at the property)

The hotel will do what it can to grant the request - however at no time, is the request guaranteed.

Where a room type is not stated as having a particular view, it will be assumed no view is available.

Where a room type is not stated as being smoking or non-smoking, it will assumed it could be either and a request for either can be made.

Where a request has been made and the hotel is unable to grant the request, this will not nullify the applicable booking conditions, in any way.

If it is a requirement that a specific need must be met, to make a booking, this must be noted at time of booking.

In this case, if the requirement cannot be met, M-Power Accommodation will consult the client before completing the booking.

Guarantee - Guaranteeing a Bookings


Secured Bookings

Bookings may only be secured with a valid credit card, and/or a form of prepayment, unless agreed otherwise.

Unsecured bookings are tentative, and may be sold to other guests without notice.

Securing a booking is also referred to as "guaranteeing" a booking. The credit card provided to guarantee a booking will be charged for any outstanding accommodation, incidental or other costs incurred during the stay. All hotels and apartments properties require that a credit card be provided upon check-in to guarantee the booking.

Credit card details provided to M-Power, in order to guarantee a booking, will be also be provided to the Hotel, and may be used in accordance with the Hotel's No-Show or Cancellation Policy.

Where a booking has not been made by M-Power, no charges will occur, even if credit card details have been provided.

Where a 'third party credit card' is used to guarantee a booking (i.e. the card older does not check-in to the hotel) an authority form for the card holder to complete may be required. Where required, an authority form will be provided by M-Power, and upon receipt will also be forwarded to the booked Hotel. The booking is then secured upon M-Power's receipt of the completed authority form.

Unsecured Bookings


Any reservation remains Unsecured when an agreed prepayment does not occur, or where agreed charges to the credit card provided cannot be made. In the case where the booked hotel chooses not to hold an Unsecured reservation, M-Power Accommodation will endeavour to alert the guest that the reservation remains Unsecured. M-Power Accommodation takes no responsibility however, for the loss of an Unsecured reservation if the guest does not respond to M-Power Accommodation attempts at contacting the guest.

Travel Insurance

M-Power Accommodation advises its Clients take out travel insurance to cover any losses incurred as a result of changes due to unforeseen circumstances.

Hotel's inability to provide accommodation

In the rare event that a hotel is unable to provide accommodation as booked by M-Power Accommodation, M-Power Accommodation will work to find an alternative accommodation.

If an alternative cannot be found M-power Accommodation will refund any deposit paid to M-Power Accommodation for the booking cancelled by the hotel.

If such an event arises where the hotel cannot provide the accommodation booked and M-Power Accommodation is unable to provide alternative accommodation the limit of liability of M-Power Accommodation will not exceed the cost to deposit paid to M-Power Accommodation for that unfulfilled booking.

We reserve the right to refuse service.
