A visit to Sydney over New Years Eve with its spectacular fireworks displays are on most tourists must-do list. The problem is finding reasonably priced accommodation over this extremely busy period and then being able to stay long enough to fulfil most of the hotel's minimum stay requirements over the high demand time of New Year Eve in Sydney.
As a general rule, the cheaper the accommodation, the longer the minimum stay requirements. This is not always the case, most properties that offer anything of a harbour and fireworks view are not only requiring long stays but are also charging premium prices. Naturally properties with a view of the fireworks and Sydney Harbour over New Year do not fit into this category.
Also too, it is more likely that the least expensive option will be a Sydney hotel or Sydney motel rather than service apartment accommodation.
Tourist accommodation options usually suit those who wish to stretch their travel dollar and are prepared to travel a short distance to find a good vantage from which to view the fireworks on New Years Eve. Be warned however, as the usual attendance on New Years Eve to watch the Fireworks usually numbers about a million people - comprising tourists to Sydney and locals alike who throng to the foreshores for the annual sceptical.
Once again planning and getting in early is the key to achieving good and affordable accommodation in Sydney over the New Year Celebrations. Many of the options noted below sell out by the mid year or have at least sold most sought after rooms. Reasonably priced 2 bedroom and 3 bedroom apartments (not that 3 bedroom options exist in the price range that is considered to be tourist class) usually sell out early in the year. This puts pressure on families to move into the next price bracket in an attempt to find a reasonable 2 bedroom apartment over the New Year in Sydney.
We cannot stress enough, early planning and bookings are essential to get reasonably priced lodging in Sydney over the Christmas and New Year period.

Booking and Cancellation Policy:
- Two Charges will occur to secure your reservation over the New Year:
- A Non-refundable deposit equal to 10% of the Total Cost of Accommodation at the time of booking.

Metro Hotel On Pitt
