Shangri La Hotel

The Shangri La hotel offers some of the most spectacular views of the worlds most spectacular New Years Eve fireworks display. The Shangri La Hotel Sydney is perfectly positioned between the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge where guests can enjoy the quintessential Sydney experience in comfort and style that is unmistakably five star.

The Hotel is situated in the historic Rocks district, the birthplace of colonial Sydney; an area that offers wonderful shopping and a wide variety of restaurants, pubs and bars - from fine dining to casual and relaxed. The Hotel is also within walking distance of the Central Business District, the Sydney's major shopping facilities and tourist attractions. Booking and Cancellation Policy:

• A minimum stay applies to all stays over New Years Eve as shown for each room type above.
• Two charges will occur to secure your New Year booking.
• A deposit equal to 10% of the full stay will be charged at the time of making the booking.
• At the time of booking also the 90% balance for the cost of all nights at the higher rate will be charged.
• Once paid these amounts are NON REFUNDABLE if your booking is shortened or cancelled for any reason.
• The remaining 90% of the accommodation costs will be paid directly to the hotel during your stay.
• By proceeding with the booking it is understood the the above conditions have been accepted.
• M-Power recommends travel insurance to cover costs that arise from cancellation due to unforseen circumstances.

  Additional Info:

  * Restaurant reservations are essential for both New Year's Eve and the Christmas period. It is ESSENTIAL that if you wish to dine in the Hotel that you make an early reservation to AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT as all restaurants will be fully booked. Full prepayment is required upon booking for all special event dates. No gift vouchers or discounts of any kind can be used on special event dates. Reservations are unable to be confirmed at this point in time however a waitlist will be taken starting from the 1st March. Please contact our Food & Beverage Secretary during office hours on (02) 9250 6247. Room Service will have a limited menu available, which can be ordered on check in at the Hotel.

  * Access to the Food and Beverage facilities on the 36th floor will be strictly limited to ticket holders for the night of the 31st December. Access to this floor for those who have purchased tickets for the evening is from 19:30 and will have a designated lift available from the ground floor.

  * The Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney reserves the right to allocate room and floor numbers. These details will not be made available to you until your day of arrival. While the Hotel will make a note of particular requests (e.g. requests for non-smoking rooms, adjoining or interconnecting rooms), we will not be able to guarantee any such requests.

  * The Hotel cannot guarantee the location of the firework display barges, however we can guarantee that our room types will have the following view aspects:

  DELUXE DARLING HARBOUR ROOMS have views out towards Darling Harbour and the Blue Mountains. These rooms do not have views onto Sydney Harbour Bridge or Opera House.

  * You will be allowed to accommodate a maximum of THREE adults in your room, for an overnight stay. Alternatively, if you have a family, we will allow TWO adults and TWO children (under the age of 12 years) to occupy the room. Please note that our rooms are only large enough to accommodate ONE extra rollaway bed. Rollaway beds are limited in numbers and will need to be ordered in advance at an additional cost of $155.00 per night for the duration of your stay. A limited number of baby cots are also available from the Hotel free of charge and will need to be ordered in advance. Unless stated above in the booking details an extra bed HAS NOT been organised and as such will not be available upon arrival.

  * In line with NSW Fire Legislation and to ensure the safety of our in-house guests, there is a strict limit to the number of people allowed in a Hotel room for the purpose of viewing fireworks. This maximum number is SIX and is non-negotiable. From 30 December, security staff will be stationed at all entrances to the Hotel and access to the premises will be restricted to a total of six people per room, INCLUDING the registered occupants of the room.

  * Should you book a room on our HORIZON CLUB FLOORS, access to the Horizon Club Lounge will be strictly limited to the registered occupants of your room. Non-resident guests may only make use of the balcony areas, located within the "Atrium" to view the firework display on New Year's Eve. Due to safety precautions, glass bottles and drinking glasses will not be allowed on the balcony areas.

  * ALCOHOL and FOOD will be STRICTLY prohibited from being brought onto the Hotel's premises under the NSW Liquor Act. Anything that is brought will be withheld until your departure. Gloucester Street Pantry (lower ground floor) has an excellent wine and champagne selection for you to purchase at bottle shop prices.

  * Parking at the Hotel is limited and will be allocated to guests on a first come, first served basis. The Hotel's regular car parking charges will be applicable during your stay, except for the night of 31 December The charge for overnight parking on New Years Eve will be released at a later date. Once our carpark is full, you will need to make alternative arrangements with regards to parking.
