Sydney's New Year Celebrations, which culminates with 2 spectacular firework displays over the harbour (9 pm and 12 midnight) offers children and parents a spectacular experience and wonderful memories the whole family will cherish for years to come.

Families, in particular, must book early because family-friendly serviced apartments and child-friendly hotels are often the first to fill over the New Year Christmas period.

Most family accommodation offer infant cots, high chairs, rollaway beds or bunk beds and meals suitable for children in their restaurants or dinning facilities.

There is a wide range of accommodation suitable for family accommodation in Sydney ranging from budget hotels to Luxury Serviced Apartments with spectacular views of the New Years fireworks lighting up Sydney Harbour.

Usually, by September, all 2 bedroom apartments in the city are booked out and hotel family rooms, soon after. Families leaving their planning too late will normally only be able to find suitable family style accommodation in suburban Motels and therefore have to travel to (and from) the city for the New Year Celebrations.

  • Hotel Bond: Without the credit card of a staying guest, or the authorised use of a 'third party' (someone else's) credit card being held as guarantee against damage and incidentals, a cash Bond of A$500/night may be required prior to keys being given upon check-in. If you have secured your own reservation with your own credit card then this will be held as guarantee against damage and incidentals, and no cash bond will be required.

Booking and Cancellation Policy:

  • For stays that include the 31st December, 2010 a 3 night minimum stay applies.
  • Two charges will be made at the time of booking to secure your reservation.
  • Firstly, a 10% non-refundable deposit of the Total booking cost will be charged. This amount is not refundable or transferrable if the booking is cancelled, shortened or changed.
  • Secondly, if your stay includes any of the nights 29th, 30th, 31st December, 2010 and 1st, 2nd January, 2011 (inclusive) the remaining 90% balance of these nights will also be charged at time of booking.
  • Cancellation before the 1st October, 2010 will forfeit the first amount noted above (10% deposit).
  • Cancellation or shortening or change of stay within 90 days of booked arrival will also forfeit the second amount charged, as noted above.
  • A contract of stay will be provided to obtain your acceptance of these conditions, and must be returned to for the booking to progress.
  • M-Power strongly recommends Travel Insurance to cover any losses incurred due to unforeseen circumstances.
