The Southern Suburbs of Sydney are mostly residential suburbs with some scattered light industries. Most accommodation requirements therefore, are for either visiting relatives requiring Serviced Family Apartments, nearby relations living in the area or Corporate Relocations and short term business accommodation.

Suburbs with the Sutherland Shire that make up this region usually begin at Mascot, Botany, Matraville near the Sydney International and Domestic Airports, include suburbs such as Rockdale, Kogarah, Banksia, Hurstville, Kernell and Tempe Southern Beach Suburbs include Maroubra, La Perouse, Cronulla to name a few.

The Southern Suburbs, though interesting to visit usually do not hold great appeal to the tourist visiting Sydney, who would be more likely to seek accommodation in the City, Eastern Suburbs or Northern Beaches.
