Originally the "Old Great Southern Hotel", The Great Southern Hotel has retained the heritage facade of the “Great Southern” and combines many of the charms of the old building with the modern conveniences one would expect from a 3½ star hotel.

The Great Southern Hotel is comfortable walking distance to the Town Hall, Sydney Entertainment Centre, Darling Harbour, Queen Victoria Building and Darling Harbour. It is across the road from the Capitol Theatre and a short bus ride to Bondi Beach and many of the places of interest to the traveller to Sydney.

The Great Southern Hotel is also well served by buses which run from out front of the hotel directly to Circular Quay where Ferries can take you to famous Manly Beach, Watsons Bay and Taronga Zoo. The same buses will take you to the Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Rocks.
