Things To do and See in the Blue Mountains

Visitors to the Blue Mountain can take a ride on the Scenic Railway or Skyway, a cable car that traverses the Katoomba Falls gorge 200m above the floor of the valley. Or go bushwalking; there’s a 7km walk to the Red Hand Cave where you can see amazing Aboriginal hand stencils on the walls. Active types can explore the rugged bushland, cliffs and gorges of the area, which offer great opportunities for canyoning, abseiling and climbing. Or you might prefer to peruse the antique stores, cafes, fine dining restaurants and art galleries sprinkled throughout Katoomba, Leura, Blackheath and Springwood, home of the late artist Norman Lindsay.
